First Holy Communion

Cassidy received her First Holy Communion today. She was so beautiful in her white dress and veil. Cassidy had the hardest time missing her Aunt Lauren - she was heartbreakingly sad that Aunt Lauren is in Africa and not in here with her on her special day. But, during communion, one of the songs was "Here I Am" which to me sings Lauren's name to my heart, so I felt she was there with us. MaMa Sandra and MaMa Elaine are here, and we had delicious cake. Check with me personally for a few stories that made it especially entertaining! All in all, it was a glorious day. God bless you Cassidy!

ballerina beauty

the recital is coming up, and recital picture weeks are here. This week is Cassidy's week, and her ballet class is dancing to the Carousel Waltz. I have to say, her costume is one of the prettiest. Here she is, all fabulousness...

art festival

We went to the art festival this past weekend. Always fun - lots of interesting things to see. I wish I had an endless source of funds, because I could really get into acquiring art. My friend Abs had a booth with The Woodlands Art League, and was taking photos (and Cherie too!), so here are the pics she took of me and my little angels. They are small little pictures but Abs will be sending me the files soon, so I'll switch them out when I get them. I just couldn't wait to put them on here so you could see them.

Across the way, there was a guy set up with his cool metal art - called gnome-be-gones. Crazy little critters with sharp teeth. The girls LOVED them. They drew pictures of them and gave to him, so he was kind enough to give the girls each a little friend. They were beyond excited. Here's his website so you can check them out.... http://www.sugarpost.com/ I ended up buying a venus fly trap from him for my backyard. It totally freaked out Dan and Maks.

Daniel's senior pictures

So, my oldest nephew Daniel (my sister Stacey's oldest son) is a senior and going to graduate high school next month. When the heck did this happen? It certainly seems like just a few years ago I was taking my little buddy to see Barney and he was busy being the apple of his Cissy's eye (he loved to make me pretend cry, silly boy...sometimes he would make me for real cry)...now he's practically a grown man...with a job...and a car...and a serious girlfriend (Delana - she's a very sweet girl)...sigh... He's a really great kid with a good head on his shoulders, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him - it's going to be incredible - this I am sure. Daniel - Cissy loves you a bunch!

remembering Chester

Jon and Chester at our first house.

as a little pup

he really hated seeing Santa....
I loved putting him in sweaters....again, he didn't love it so much.

here we are on the road with Jon...he always liked to help with paperwork.
I love this "family pic" I took of the 3 of us.

again, torturing the poor boy for our own amusement.

this is my absolute favorite pic - he loved to play ball.

It's hard to believe, but it's been a year since we lost our Chester. I miss that little dog so much - he had so much personality, and I don't care what anyone says, he really could understand everything I said to him. I hope you enjoyed these pics as much as I loved going back thru them and thinking about him. I have him in a great little jar (with fleur de lis - thanks Coleen!) on my fireplace mantel...he always loved hanging out with me watching tv...and I have the cute pic of him playing ball in there and a gumball and his collar, and an awesome printout that Coleen gave me - "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". Hard to do sometimes, but it is getting easier to smile when I think of him.

spring is here?

The annual springtime pictures in the bluebonnets...but it was a little on the chilly side, very overcast, and kind of wet. Not the perfect conditions for pictures of my girls in the flowers, but I knew I had better take them while I could. So, here they are...my pretty girls, being sweet sisters. These are the days I love the best!

Cassidy's story of Maks and Chloe

Jason and Karen have a cute little miniature schnauzer named Chloe, and we have quite the love triangle going on with her and my pups - she loves Maks, Dan loves her, Maks doesn't really like either one of them! haha Cassidy wrote this fabulous story about them:

"One day, CRASH! The whole town has been wrecked by a tornado! Can no one save this town?

Maks! The weather on the news is a tornado! said Chloe. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and shut up your smart mouth! Let's go! They went to the big city and saw Maggie, Dan and Chester. What's up? asked Chester. Nothing, what's up with Maggie? asked Chloe. She's sick said Dan. Ok, we'll help said Maks. He went and healed Maggie. And here's the problem, she wouldn't stop hugging that guy.

Let's go Maks said Chloe.

The end!"
