so, the girls are in Mississippi visiting with Jon's folks...and Jon's been out of town all week...and I have done absolutely nothing. Now, when I say "nothing", it's not "exactly" nothing...it depends on what you consider nothing...I let the dogs in and out of the house about 4,000 times a day...I have watched lots and lots of tv and movies...I've read....I've taken a few naps (I love to nap...naps are so underrated)...I have done some laundry...I have played around on the computer...talked on the phone...I was going to paint my nails but Megan took my fave nail polish with her so I didn't get to do that...I went and saw Charlie St. Cloud which was a really good movie (that Zac Efron is some kinda cute)...so, actually - I've been pretty busy ;)
My little angels come home tomorrow (Saturday) thanks to my sweet friend Paige - she was already in BR - so she saved me a trip - she is so my hero. The girls go back sometime next week for a visit with my parents (they have to have some mom time in between - they miss me too much for back-to-back trips!) - maybe Jon will be in town during that week and we'll maybe get to go out on a date or something...who knows...if not, a little bit more of nothing for me...

summer vacay
We spent a few days in Gruene, Texas with our dear friends Paige and Kevin - we had so much fun! I love this little town - I can totally see why Paige loves it so much...its my new favorite place! Jon and Kevin took the kids to Schlitterbahn - they had a blast...we stayed in a condo on the Guadalupe River, it was beautiful! the water was so clear and cold! We went to the cutest little antique shops and general stores. We went the caves and wildlife park and mined for gems... It was a wonderful vacation, with our wonderful friends! I don't know how I'll even pick out pictures to put on the blog from the caves - I took so many great ones (just to toot my own horn!)...

If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything....
Finally, some Camp Good News pics! I'm a little slow - I think it's the summer pace...you can call it slacker if you want, it doesn't bother me at all....So, both of my little angels went to camp this year....and they both loved it. Cassidy was ready - she barely hugged me by, and she was on the bus...I'll miss you too {{sob}}...my baby is all grown up. Megan - this is old hat for her - please...but she did hang out with me till her friends got there...she wasn't waiting on the bus alone. They did lots of fun and exciting things - blobbing and ziplining and swimming and got a good dosing of some Lego Bible, which is better than the regular bible because it has pictures? Anyway, Cassidy has started her own in Powerpoint with Genesis, and I'm sure it will cost me $1,000 in ink if she ever prints the whole thing! Cassidy can't wait to go back...and sadly - it was Megan's last year to go...I wonder what next year will bring...

Squilliam
This past year in school, Cassidy's class learned about the life cycle of a meal worm...in which each child was given a meal worm of their very own at school in a little cup of cornmeal so they could watch it eat and grow from a worm into it's next stage, a larvae...at which time - they sent said cup of worm home with the children...Cassidy named her little worm Squilliam, and as Cassidy does, she loved her little worm with all her heart. Wouldn't you know, the darn thing went into it's pupa stage while it sat on my kitchen counter (and it sat there for the longest time)...I really never paid much attention to it - Cassidy would check on it and swear it was dead every now and then, but I assured her (hoping, hoping) that he was fine...and one day as we were checking on him, there was a beetle in there! Squilliam was all grown up! Cassidy was beyond thrilled...her very own beetle. So, she insisted that she keep him, and amazingly enough, he never tried to escape out of his little cup. But eventually I convinced Cassidy that Squilliam needed to go out into the big wild world and make some bug friends. She was so sad and some tears were shed, but she agreed and we set Squilliam free in the front flower garden...We just know he's very happy out there...
