Please watch this video about Lauren and vote on it....the video footage was taken by a guy that volunteered in October and he went into the red light district and into the brothels and took tons of footage, and on the property, and then when Lauren was in Cali, he interviewed her and put this video together and has entered this into a contest...if he wins, he will have the money to do a documentary on her work in Tanzania, which he really wants to do. so, check it out. when you click on this link, click on VOTE, then her video is called "a day in the life" - and vote thumbs up...it's amazing...as Lauren always is. The Lightning Thief

Coleen and I took Meagan and Megan to see the new Percy Jackson and the Olympians - The Lightning Thief movie.....we all loved it. Go check it out - it's awesome! (love that Kevin McKidd!)

Megan's birthday - 2/7

My Megan is another year older, and hopefully another year wiser... 11 years old ... time just keeps rolling on past us. It still seems just like yesterday that she was born...I suspect I will still be blogging the same sentence when she's 25...but it does, I can remember every single moment of the day before and the day she was born. I look at the beautiful young lady she's become, and just hope she keeps the strong will and outlook on the world she has now. She had a fabulously fun party on Saturday - we had a scavenger hunt at Market Street - I had some awesome clues for them to figure out, and they did a great job - they had to dance with the servers at Johnny Rockets, get an autographed picture of the former WWE wrestler Torrie Wilson at her store Jaded, decided whether Edward or Jacob was worthy of a picture, find an iron horse, make a wish in a fountain, get glittered, etc. Then we went to Town Green Park across the street for cupcakes. There was a young lady with a guitar and love in her heart and serenaded her boyfriend in the park, which the girls thought was crazy and squealed when they kissed...crazy good times! Megan told me it was the best birthday ever. How will I ever top it?...with Hot Fudge of course!

our bubble has a hole

okay, what the heck is going on? Our "bubble" is leaking...in the past few weeks, it hasn't been so safe around here. We had a carjacking at Portifino (granted it was a 1998 Grand Am with a missing hubcap - really? didn't want that Lexus parked next to it?) and then some thug tried to grab a lady jogging on Gosling and then TODAY a lady at the mall got shot in the leg during a carjacking (she fought back ...dude can have my POS Yukon, no problem). Why is my bubble going crazy? I guess we are going to have to start going to some of the community meetings and demanding some more police out and about. In the meantime, I guess we need to do like we tell our children, safety in numbers - stay with a friend. I've got to run some errands tomorrow - who wants to go with me?
