pretty toes

Jon went out to the deer lease this weekend, so the girls and I decided to have a little mother/daughter pamper time - we went to Nails of America and got pedicures.

It was the first time the girls had gotten the whole spa treatment, and boy, did they love it. It was so cute to watch their faces while they were getting their toes done - it made me smile. As you can see, they opted for a little nail art. Maybe I should have gotten the green Megan picked...it's pretty. And the purple that Cassidy got...makes me want to yell "Geaux Tigers!"...

The Woodlands Waterway Art Festival

Our hometown had a little Art Festival this weekend. I was modeling for The Woodlands Art League - they were doing some portrait painting. One of the artists, Elizabeth James, was kind enough to give me her painting of me, so here's a pic of it- I love it. They had lots of kids' activities, so Jon brought the girls up - they loved it. There was so much to see - lots of really cool art. My friend Abby is in the Art League, and she and my friend Cherie (are you in the Art League too?) were in a booth doing face painting/photos - it was a really cool concept - they would ask the kids to tell them a word that described them or something they liked, they would put that on their face or hand and take a b/w photo. Abby's a professional photographer, and oh my gosh, she rocks. Guess what descriptive words my beauties picked? The festival is going on Sunday too - if you are local - go, it's a blast!

Bluebonnet Beauties

Ah, spring in Texas...it's a tradition here in this state....if you live here and you have kids, or dogs, or pretty much anything or anybody with you, you have to pull over on the side of the road if you see a patch of bluebonnets and take pictures. We made the road trip out to Brenham on Sunday, and we saw lots of pretty wildflowers. We were tempted to take pictures in the abundant yellow flower patches just outside of The Woodlands, but we traveled on. And it was worth it - how pretty are my girls in the field of blue?
